Artist Statement:
My roles in this movie were writer, producer, picture editor, and sound editor. The challenge of this movie was that it was shot on 16 mm film and digitally. I’ve always wanted to work with 16 mm film and felt it would be a perfect fit for the vision I had for the movie. I worked with Kodak who provided us with four complementary rolls of 16 mm film. They also promoted the movie on their Facebook page. Because of the partnership with Kodak, I was under more pressure to produce a movie that was top-notch. Of course, that didn’t come easy and some of the challenges with this film were the time it took to shoot the script with both mediums. We had to extend our filming an extra week. Also, there were no track shots, and I had to look at the lips to find out where the audio would go. It took a very long time to line up the audio to digital and sync the sound, which delayed the final product. Even though the story, as written, totally changed in the postproduction phase due to the sound problems and some acting issues, I am happy with the final cut.
